What is Athena Wholesale?

Athena Wholesale is a trade-only wholesale distributor with an online ordering portal. It is not a marketplace and it does not list third-party sellers: Athena buys stock from brands, publishers and authorised distributors, holds it, and sells it to approved resellers at trade prices. The business is Hector Solutions, Inc., incorporated in Delaware and trading as Athena Wholesale, with a US correspondence address in New York and a US support line.

The portal exists because most distributors hand you a price list and expect you to run every product through Keepa or a similar tool before you know whether it is worth buying. Athena does that step for you and shows the result on the product page, next to the trade price, so you can decide from the catalog itself.

A UK catalog priced in pounds is also available to approved UK accounts, but the US operation is where the range, the pricing and the market data are strongest.

What does the catalog include?

Four ranges, each its own catalog under one account:

  • Books — publisher and distributor stock matched by ISBN, from children's box sets to trade non-fiction. See wholesale books.
  • Toys and games — recognisable licensed and evergreen lines, seasonal ranges and hobby products. See wholesale toys.
  • Consumer goods — grocery, household, health, beauty and personal care, with pack and case sizes visible. See wholesale consumer goods.
  • Fragrances and cosmetics — with trade invoice documentation per order. See wholesale fragrances.

Stock is replenishable rather than one-off closeouts, so a line that works for you can be reordered. Where a line has an exclusive-supply opportunity, the sales team will say so; some customers take a product out of the general catalog and become its exclusive buyer to protect Buy Box share. The product showcase shows current lines with images, and the live demo shows the numbers.

How does the trade account work?

You apply online with your business details and, if you have one, your Amazon storefront. A person on the Athena team reviews every application; the target is a reply within one business day. There is no application fee and nothing to pay at sign-up. Once approved you receive an email invitation to set a password, and from then on you sign in to see trade prices, live quantities and the market data where it is available, and to order online.

Trade pricing is visible to approved accounts only. Before approval you can browse the public showcase and the live demo, which shows real lines exactly as an approved account sees them.

What do I see on each product before I buy?

Lines in the US catalog show your trade price in USD next to the Amazon.com figures for the same product where they are available: the current Buy Box price, Amazon's referral and FBA fees, the sales rank, an estimated monthly sales figure, and the estimated unit profit and 90-day ROI that fall out of those numbers. You can search by UPC, ASIN or title and filter or sort by estimated ROI and monthly sales.

The data comes from Keepa (Buy Box history and sales rank), from Helium 10 sales estimates where an exact match is available, and from Amazon's own fee estimates through the Selling Partner API, refreshed on a daily job. They are estimates and are labelled as such; Athena never substitutes an invented figure when source data is missing, and a line without data simply shows none.

Treat the ROI as a starting point, not the ROI you will earn. Your own account's fee tier, prep and inbound costs, competing sellers and repricing all change the result, which is exactly why the underlying numbers are shown rather than a single score.

What is the minimum order?

The US minimum is $3,000 per range. Minimums apply to each range separately and do not combine: a basket with $2,000 of toys and $2,000 of consumer goods is short in both ranges, not a $4,000 order. The checkout shows progress toward each minimum as you build the basket and will not submit an order while any range is short.

Trial orders below the minimum are handled by the sales team rather than the checkout. If you want to test a single line before committing to a range, book a call and ask.

Where do orders ship from, and how?

US orders are fulfilled from Athena's US warehouse, so dispatch is domestic. At checkout you choose one of three options:

  • Ship to your address. Delivery to the address on your account is quoted and the cost confirmed with you before billing.
  • Ship directly to an Amazon fulfilment centre. The Amazon destination and shipping cost are confirmed with you before dispatch. Prep and FNSKU labelling can be added on books, consumer goods and fragrances (an optional Seller Central integration manages FNSKU and MSKU labels without the back-and-forth); toys ship unlabelled.
  • Ex Works collection. You or your carrier collect from the US warehouse; collection details are confirmed before dispatch.

Full details are on the shipping and returns page.

What does the invoice show?

When an invoice is issued, it matches the order's payment schedule: a commercial invoice for a single-payment order, or a deposit invoice first and a later balance invoice if the order uses a deposit schedule. Athena-issued invoices can be downloaded as a PDF from your orders area once issued. Orders invoiced through our invoice portal open there instead of as a Athena PDF, and a portal invoice is not available until it has been issued. The document is issued by Hector Solutions, Inc. doing business as Athena Wholesale, with our US address and contact details, the legal business name from the account at generation time, the billing address stored on the order at checkout, each product as its own line with identifiers and quantities, and the totals in US dollars. US invoices carry no VAT. A resale certificate, where you hold one, is recorded against the account.

Many customers submit these invoices for Amazon brand and category approvals. What Amazon typically asks for, and the honest limits of what any distributor can promise, are on the invoices and ungating page.

How do I pay?

No payment is taken at checkout. You submit the order online; the Athena team confirms stock and pricing, and you then receive the invoice with payment instructions and pay by bank transfer or card against it. Many resellers prefer bank transfer for larger purchase orders. Nothing is charged at application, and there are no subscription or membership fees: you pay for stock once the order is confirmed.

Who is Athena for, and who is it not for?

Athena suits sellers who buy in wholesale quantities and want to decide from data: FBA and FBM sellers replenishing branded lines, multi-category sellers who would rather run one account than five, and buyers who need clean invoices for brand or category approvals. The $3,000 per-range minimum is the practical threshold.

It is not a fit for a first-ever $200 test order, for retail arbitrage, or for sellers outside the US and UK. UK sellers are welcome on the UK catalog, but the US range and pricing are where the margin is.

Distributor with the numbers built in, or distributor plus an analysis tool?

Both work. The usual route is a distributor price list run through an analysis tool that matches each UPC to Amazon and returns profit, ROI and demand. It is flexible, because you can use it with any supplier, and it costs a subscription plus the time to export, upload and reconcile every list.

Athena does the matching and the fee maths inside the catalog, on live stock, with the trade price already in place, so the number you see is for a line you can order today at that price. The trade-off is that it only covers what Athenastocks. Sellers who run several suppliers often keep both: the tool for the rest of their sourcing, and the Athena catalog for the ranges it holds.
